How to Play Dungeons and Dragons (Players) 60 minute session
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a game of imagination, strategy, and teamwork. As a player, your role is to create a character, explore the world, and interact with the story shaped by the Dungeon Master (DM).
1. Create Your Character
Choose a race (elf, dwarf, human, etc.) and a class (fighter, wizard, rogue, etc.). Use tools like D&D Beyond to build your character, selecting abilities, skills, and equipment.
2. Learn the Basic Rules
Understand your character’s abilities, spells, and actions in combat. Roll a 20-sided die (d20) to determine success for attacks, skill checks, and saving throws.
3. Work with Your Party
D&D is a team game—communicate, strategize, and support your fellow adventurers. Engage in roleplay and make choices that shape the story.
4. Explore & Solve Challenges
Interact with NPCs, solve puzzles, and make critical decisions that impact the world. Creativity and problem-solving are key!
5. Have Fun & Stay Engaged
The goal is to enjoy the adventure. Be proactive, ask questions, and embrace the storytelling experience.
